Descripción General

Day 1
You start in the morning at 08:00am from Santa Elena. Soon you will be in the National Park Canaima and our first visit will be the Jaspe waterfall, a red shiny stone in the middle of the jungle. After two hours over a good paved road comes LUEPA, from there you will need another two or three hours off-road driving to reach Kavanayen, situated in the heart of the Gran Sabana. After a good lunch in Sra. Guadelupe's house you will have some time to visit the mission where the fathers teach the Indians to improve their agricultural techniques. The last 15 KM to Mantopai takes another hour. It's an unbelievable journey, covered with orchids and insect eating plants; it’s like driving over the top of a flat-top mountain. The camp is just next to the Karuai River and at the foot of the Soropan Tepuy (flat-top mountain). Supper and overnight stay is in one of the most beautiful camps in the Gran Sabana.

Day 2
After breakfast you will take a 2-4 hr walk through the jungle. It is one of the most beautiful jungle walks because you'll see many medicinal plants and the local Indian guide will explain them to you, he will show you too some techniques for hunting. In the way you'll see the Indian way of growing their vegetables and fruits, also you'll see how they brew their typical beer. The lunch will be in the camp and afterwards you'll have 1 hour to chill-out. In the afternoon you'll enjoy a natural waterslide and a waterfall just 15 minutes from the camp. The shore is covered with insect eating plants and orchids. Overnight stay is in Mantopai.

Day 3
Today you will go to the Indian village Iboribo. From there you take a small boat trip of 20 minutes to get to the Chinak Meru, the highest waterfall in this region with 107m free fall. You have plenty of time to enjoy the view and a chance to take pictures. Then you will go back to the Indian village for lunch. Finally you go to the next camp at the Kama waterfall. You stay next to the 55m high waterfall in a camp, in the National Park Canaima!

Day 4
After breakfast you can enjoy a swim at the Kauí waterfall with a 8m high drop. If you dare to jump in, just do it!! Next you go to a view point of the flat-top mountains and have lunch in the Indian community of San Francisco. The last attraction is the walk behind the La Cortina waterfall. This all depends on the water level, an unforgettable experience for adrenalin junkies. You arrive in Santa Elena late afternoon.
