Delta Orinoco 3 days and 2 nights

Come to see the Waraos’s land, the Orinoco’s Delta, with an extension of approximately 40.000 km2 and 375 rivers which transport the water to the Atlantic. Here you will have the opportunity to see parrots, toucans, hoatzin birds, piranhas and caimans.

DESCRIPTION

Day 1
Pick up in Ciudad Guayana (Puerto Ordaz or San Felix) at 09:00. Transport to Piacoa ca. 90 minutes. When you arrive to the inn in Piacoa you will have time to make the check in and enjoy your lunch. The first trip into the Delta by boat will starts around 14:00, in this trip you will visit the river arms Tipirua und Piacoa and you would have the opportunity to get to meet a traditional family. The most of the time, you will be accompanied by sweet water dolphins, howler monkeys and many birds. Cold drinks on board. You will be back at the posada around 18:00 hours.
Day 2:
After the breakfast you start to discover the Sacoroco river, Tulipane river and the Santa Catalina lagoon, depending on the water level you'll see many beautiful, fine sandy beaches along the way. You'll have time to enjoy a refreshing swim in the middle of the jungle. The lunch will be a picnic on the way. During the tour you will have the chance to see king fishers, eagles, sweet water dolphins, medicinal plants and many more. Around 16:30 you will be back o the camp.
Day 3
In the morning you can try your skills at piranha fishing. During the boat ride down the Guacara River in the Sierra Imataca, there are many toucans, small parrots and during August and September many big parrots who enjoy the hobo fruit.
You are back in the posada at 12:30. After lunch you leave the camp and travel to Ciudad Guayana again.
